For those seeking to maintain their physical ritual, heated tobacco offers that ability - and IQOS still appears far ahead of the pack. Due to the steeper R&D and IP hurdles, it appears a more defensible position. But regardless of how great a specific product might be, certain users will simply prefer others, whether pouches, vape, or sticking with their legacy product. It will be interesting to see what incremental innovations occur in the pouch space.
Everything you sad is correct but I was just surprised as I myself am a part time smoker and tried to understand the new pouches... and yes I did understand them and I feel I can predict that those will be one day the highest part of the the revenue....
> They are also far more convenient in countless other settings because of their discrete nature
Exactly. In the US at least, there’s a stigma associated with smoking, and by extension with vaping and HNB. Many establishments post “no vaping” signs despite the lack of secondhand smoke, which was the initial reason for restricting smoking.
Two questions:
- How does on! moisture conpare to Zyn?
- Do you know if Swisher has ever considered going through an IPO?
on! is dry similar to US ZYN. I have not had the ability to acquire on! Plus yet, so my views on the product are limited to a few scant sources. Swisher was public for a few years in the 90s before going private again. I am doubtful we see it IPO again - while it could help improve access to capital, the associated costs, reporting requirements, and forced transparency are a burden. But who knows, perhaps current owners want to take some chips off the table, want to access capital to fund expansion efforts of newer lines, or it happens via M&A. Never say never!
On! plus ... I bought them last week in Sweden and they have big potential... They are totally different they are pullable and sizeable like a gum, good moisturizer, a little bit of powder in the can which is great and smells strong when opening the can but very good (I tried strawberries)
Smoking kills; nicotine doesn’t. Pouches save lives (since users are often ex-smokers).
It seems so simple. Hard to imagine FDA fighting the data forever, but stranger things have happened.
I myself hold close to 500k splitter in BAT PM and MO, I am from Europe and have been to the USA
I know both cultures very well
I thought HnB especially IQOS to be a game changer, I occasionally smoke cigarettes, like 2 or 3 in a month
After trying VELO ZYN and ON! Plus, I can see those are the real game changer, it's not IQOS
ON! plus are different and I somehow le lean into them in having great potential due to the flex technology

I myself am a big fan of IQOS too

Zyn and European Velo are like the same
Thanks for your perspective, Hermann. I look forward to eventually getting my hands on on! Plus.
Thank you for the answer, Devin. I had no idea Swisher had been public in the past.
If I remember correctly, it was only for around 3 years. Odd
